Programme

Stoke on Trent Boat Club organises cruises on the Caldon Canal at Easter, the May bank holidays and the last weekend in September.  One of these cruises will be the Commodore’s Cruise.  Many members cruise far and wide during the summer, independently or sometimes as a group.  This year, a number of club members will be cruising to Wolverhampton Boat Club to join in their Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

At the end of the cruising season, boats may be lifted out of the water for winter maintenance and during this closed season, there is a varied social programme.  Potteries Model Boat Club holds a Moonlight Regatta in the club every autumn, with a pie and peas supper.  Santa Claus visited the club for the children’s Christmas party in December, and the festive season is celebrated in traditional style, culminating [weather permitting] in a New Year’s Day cruise and lunch.

Various other social events take place after Christmas, with the annual dinner in the spring, around the time when the boats are craned back into the water for the new boating season.
